So... this was my first day back to PRA and I had an awesome respondent.

"Everyone's on drugs, everyone is retarded, and do you know WHY!?" Says an old man who needed to rant to me about everything.

krystinephantom: PRA again today. (rhyme!!)

Is it pathetic to have gone to work yesterday, had a decent day, and then not want to go back the next day for fear it will be terrible?

I hate PRA. But Lynn was happy to see me yesterday, and it was nice to see some people... and it would have been nice NOT to see some people.

It was nice to see Aly briefly when I dropped off Harry Potter to her! "Hello this is Alyson from Winnipeg..." hehe.

Okay, shift started at two.. and I am not there... but I guess I have until five... lalalala.

This post is about nothing. Sorry.

krystinephantom: Back to the grindstone!

I went to PRA for the first time since my trip with my OTHER work yesterday.

It was odd. There were a couple people I enjoyed seeing, a couple people I forgot how much I didn't like, and a bunch of lame-assedness that comes along with working at PRA.

For example: I had never worked on the project the put me on last night... but I just did it, and was fine, and I got the four they were hoping for to finish the project off. BUT I think they have gotten crazy anal about the last 5-10 minutes of shift. Muriel asked me to switch regions at ten minutes to... and I would not have had time to do a survey had someone actually wanted to by the time I was supposed to leave. "we pay you until nine so we expect you to work until nine" Which, fine. Fair enough, but I am notgiving them more effort than they give me. We don't get benefits for going over on a survey... and if it was some old person that took 45 minutes I would just want to scream and poke their blind little eyes out.

Oh well, I fully intend on NOT working up to the minute (unless it's a five minute survey) and if they don't like that, they can fire me.

I am so over it.

Stupid Golden Girls.

What are your thoughts on this?

krystinephantom: Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Fire!

Cross posted into "winnipeg" and "wpg_callcentres"

This evening at work I was sitting happily (or as happily as you can while sitting on the phones in a call centre) talking to a nice respondent and BOOM! The building shook and all the lights went out.

"I'm sorry sir but I'll have to take your phone number and call you back. All the power just went out in the building and I cannot continue the survey"

I saw on the news that there was some sort of electrical blow out in the sewers that blew some man hole covers off and there was a thirty foot (?) pillar of flame coming from the sewers.

Apparently some guy went to the hospital because of burns on his upper body and I hope he will be alright. What a shitty thing to happen to a guy. Walking along, minding his own business and Flame Erupts from the streets. Definately odd, and shitty luck. Maybe he was in a car... I dunno the whole story, the news was very vague about it all. And you'd think exploding streets would make a decent story.

On the bright side (for me anyways) we got to go home early, and work may be cancelled tomorrow (which leaves me free to run some errands).

Does anyone else have any more details/pictures/stories to tell about the exploding street tonight? Any interesting experiences in the work place (come on Faneuil (sp?) people, I know you're out there!)?
